What is PDO Threadlift?

pdo threads

Illumia's Baby Threadlift uses Polydioxanone (PDO) threads, which are commonly used in surgical sutures and are absorbable by our bodies, and in this case, our face and skin.

The Baby Threadlift procedure gently and naturally lifts and tightens concern areas such as crow's feet, jowls, sagging chin, nasolabial lines, under eye areas, and more.

How Is The Baby Threadlift Procedure Like?

baby threadlift

Illumia's Baby Threadlift doesn't require cutting or surgical procedures unlike traditional facelift surgeries. But it is a minimally invasive treatment since the PDO threads are inserted into the concern areas using sharp or blunt cannulas (needles housing the threads).

Local anaesthesia is used to reduce discomfort to the minimum, and the treatment time is anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the treated areas during that session.

Key Benefits

  • Low to zero downtime
  • Minimally invasive
  • Minimal discomfort

Results To Expect

  • Natural face lift with gradual results
  • Fresher and firmer v-shape face
  • Collagen growth stimulation for longer lasting effects

Is PDO Threadlift safe?

Yes, the PDO threads used are the same threads used by surgeons for sutures. Our skin will eventually absorb the threads, so there is no need to remove the threads.

Is it painful?

There may be slight discomfort, but local anesthesia will be used to reduce it to the minimum.

The procedure will take roughly 15 to 30 minutes, even for multiple treatment areas, and many of our patients find the procedure tolerable.

How many treatments are needed?

For most cases, one treatment is sufficient to see visible results in about a few weeks post-treatment. Collagen growth stimulation happens after the first few days, so it'd take some time to experience gradual and natural results, which is why most patients opt for this over traditional facelift surgery.

Is there downtime?

As the PDO Threadlift procedure is minimally invasive, there's minimal downtime and recovery is generally quick. Patients can go back to their daily activities 1-2 days after the procedure with minimal discomfort.
