In the past, surgery was the only option that was available for the removal of eyebags and for patients who desired bigger and brighter eyes. However, advances in medical technology has now made it possible to remove unwanted eyebags with non-surgical methods.
Illumia Medical’s Non-Surgical Eyebag Removal procedure uses a combination of high-intensity focused radiofrequency (F-RF) and optic cannula technology to eliminate severe eyebags by restoring the consistency of tissues, skin, and muscle in the lower eyelid, resulting in a younger and less tired-looking appearance without the need for surgery.
Non-Surgical & Medically Safe
Visible & Long-Lasting Results
As a minimally-invasive procedure, only numbing cream will be applied and no anaesthesia will be administered. This reduces any pain or discomfort that the patient might feel throughout the procedure. Using high-intensity RF energy, the skin around the eyes will be tightened by stimulating collagen production and attracting collagen to the treated areas, thus firming the skin and reducing laxity and sagginess.
Excess fat is further reduced with a subdermal cannula that eliminates fatty tissues and water retention underneath the skin layers without touching the surrounding skin, leaving behind smoother skin without visible bulges or excess laxity.
Traditional eyebag removal surgery involves significant surgical risk and might even leave scars. Local or even general anaesthesia is required because it was a complicated surgery involving one of the most delicate organs. Fortunately, because of medical advances, non-surgical options are available nowadays.
There are two methods to remove saggy eyebags: the non-surgical and surgical approach. Both methods are efficient in getting rid of bags and wrinkles under the eyes. The right procedure for you will depend on a few factors that will be discussed between you and your aesthetic doctor, and typically includes the severity of the eyebags, the laxity of the skin (sagginess) and your desired outcome.

Excess fats in the lower eyelid are usually caused by aging and gravity, with sagginess and the severity of darkened eyebags increasing over time. The laxed tissue and muscles become noticeably protrusive and with other factors like rubbing of the eyes or a lack of sleep, the condition of eyebags can worsen.
Unlike body fats, undereye fats do not return after eyebag removal. Patients can see clearer, firmer skin around the eyes without the need for cuts or sutures. The non-surgical eyebag removal technique also allows for a shorter recovery time of 5 to 7 days with minimal downtime. Results are visible as soon as the procedure is complete, with lesser complications and side effects such as swelling or bruising.
The non-surgical eyebag removal procedure is ideal for individuals of varying eyebag severity – from mild, moderate to severe, and who do not wish to undergo surgery to remove eyebags. Ideal candidates are comfortable with the possibility of repeated procedures, depending on the volume of saggy skin and fatty tissues in the lower eyelid, and complementary techniques such as dermal fillers may be recommended as a holistic procedure to achieve the results you want.
