Why is it performed?
The mini-facelift is performed to achieve a significant tightening of the middle and lower face. The incision is made just anterior to the ear lobe, going around the small tragal cartilage and extending upwards into the hairline.
Is it painful?
The procedure is done under local anaesthesia with sedation. Once the local anaesthesia takes effect, there should be no pain, and our team will ensure that you are kept comfortable throughout the procedure.
How is it performed?
The skin is dissected for an appropriate amount to enable visualization of the facial structures that need to be tightened. Upon closure, any excess skin in that area is removed to give a smooth, natural look. The mini-facelift may be combined with facial fat grafting to achieve a more holistic outcome.
How is the recovery?
Post-procedurally there may be slight pain, bruising and swelling, which usually resolve in a couple of weeks. You will be monitored for a short period after the procedure to ensure there are no serious complications such as uncontrolled pain or bleeding. These are exceedingly rare. Immediate downtime after the procedure is about 1 week, with full results expected at about 2 to 4 weeks. Sutures are removed 7 days after the procedure.
