The Illumia 3D Eye Threadlift uses special-purpose bio-stimulating threads made of a unique material known as Polydioxanone (PDO). These unique threads are as thin as human hair, and yet have tensile strength 10x greater than natural skin fibres.

How Does Illumia’s 3D Eye Threadlift Work?

During treatment, multiple fine threads are placed within the skin matrix using a flexible soft cannula designed to make the process painless and free of downtime. The thread placement forms a mesh-like network, much like a scaffolding, that creates an immediate improvement in the strength and support of weak and delicate under eye skin structure.
Placement of multiple bio-stimulating threads also has another very important function – it stimulates collagen neogenesis, a process of increased regeneration of collagen fibres, and fibroblast activation which is crucial to repair and improve the quality, elasticity and density of the under-eye skin structure.
The increased strength and elasticity creates a lifting and tightening effect, while the intensive regenerative process improves skin quality, texture and significant lightening of dark circles.
The 100% biodegradable PDO threads are naturally absorbed over 12-18 months with no side effects.

FAQs About Illumia Medical’s 3D Eye Threadlift
The number of threads used will vary from individual to individual. Dr Ram will be able to better assess and advise during the first consultation and assessment.
Illumia uses polydioxanone (PDO) threads that provide significant structural support to the under-eye area. It can last for a period of 1-2 years or longer.
There is minimal to no downtime for this procedure, aside from mild swelling, bruising and soreness. You can return to your daily activities immediately after, although certain activities should be avoided. The doctor will discuss this with you during the consultation.
The procedure is completed in about 20 minutes or less, depending on the patient’s condition.
